Celebrated Juventus defender, Leonardo Bonucci has stepped up in defence of Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese forward failed to deliver a penalty last night against Milan en route to the Copa Italia final, emphasising that, “even the greatest miss penalties.”

Ronaldo had hit the goalpost 16th minutes from the spot against a ten-man Milan side in their 0-0 draw in the Turin stadium which was enough to take them to the final after a one-all draw in the first leg at the san-Siro stadium.

Ronaldo had also scored a late penalty to salvage a draw for the Old lady in the first leg before the suspension of football throughout Italy due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus pandemic but failed to replicate the same feat at Allianz stadium behind closed doors.

Following the development, Bonucci rose in defence of the five-time Balon d’Or winner who had scored twenty-five goals in this campaign in all competitions.

Speaking with sports reporters in his post-match conference, Bonucci said, “Even the greatest miss. Cristiano is always important for us. He increases the pressure on the opponent. He was unfortunate today, but the Milan goalkeeper did well.

He also gave a ray of optimism to teeming fans, saying they should expect a rejuvenated Juventus side subsequently.

The Ravens can report that Juventus will either meet International or Lazio at the final of the Copa Italia at Stadio Olimpico in Rome, next week Wednesday, 17th, June 2020.
