Unilorin maintains position as ‘most-subscribed-to’ institution in Nigeria – Akogun

The University of Ilorin, Kwara State, has been announced as the ‘most-subscribed-to’ institution in Nigeria by prospective students who undertook the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), The Ravens has learnt.

The institution is retaining this position for the umpteenth time after clinching it for seven successive years.

In the league of other institutions, the University of Ilorin clinched the first position using the number of applications received by the candidates that sat for the 2020 UTME.

According to a statement made available to our correspondent by Mr Kunle Akogun, Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, the University has retained its leadership position in term of application recorded from the candidates in reference to the statistics of this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

“With not less than 103,582 applications representing 5.31 per cent of all applications into higher education for 2020, UNILORIN has maintained being the most chosen tertiary institution in Nigeria”, he noted.

He disclosed further that Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State follows as the second most subscribed to institution with a total received application of 82,984 which is equivalent to 4.26 per cent of all the students’ application.
