A leading Kwara-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Gobir Foundation Organisation has donated the sum of N150,000 to the family of the Ilorin assault victim, Abdulqudus Babatunde, pledging further support until he’s able to get out of his present condition.
This gesture follows an exclusive report by The Ravens on Friday, August 14, detailing how Babatunde, 21, was assaulted by one Abdulkareem Alaba in the course of his trade in Ilorin, the state capital.
The cruel and unfortunate attack led to a severe bodily damage for Babatunde, putting him in distress, as the family cried out for help.
In a swift reaction however, Gobir Foundation, a top-rated NGO established by consummate industrialist and politician, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir reputed for humanitarian services, charity and community development intervened in the matter, pledging full support for the victim to get out of the predicament.
In a chat with The Ravens, Khadijat Eyitanwa Oladipupo-Lawal, representative of the Foundation, said the gesture was part of what the organization stands for which is service to humanity, adding that the organisation is ready “to answer the call of the family till the boy is out of the hospital.”
Oladipupo-Lawal, who had earlier on visited the victim and his family in the hospital said Babatunde was responding to treatment, while urging the government to always consider cases that need urgent attention as this.
For her part, Babtunde’s mother, Hajiah Bilikis Idowu, whose countenance gave out the joy and relief in her, prayed copiously for the Foundation and the Founder in particular, noting that Allah would continue to guide them and replenish their wealth.
