• Urges Christian faithfuls to pray for peace, prosperity

Chairman, Gobir Organization Foundation, Waziri Yakubu Gobir has felicitated with Christians in Kwara State and indeed all Nigerians as they celebrate the Christmas and New Year festivals.

Waziri Gobir pleaded with Nigerians to use the Christmas period to spread love, peace and unity across the country.

Gobir in his Christmas message also urged Nigerians to pray fervently for peace and unity in the country and shun violence and other acts that may destabilise peaceful coexistence.

“As we celebrate Christmas and a look forward to a prosperous New Year, I call on all Christians to adhere to the teachings of Christ, and spread love, peace and unity across Kwara State and Nigeria at large,” Waziri said in a statement signed by Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Tajudeen.

“In the spirit of celebration, we should not forget to be our brother’s keeper, shun violence of all sorts that are capable of destabilising the country further, and remember to pray for the country to overcome insecurity which has been a major challenge over the years.

“We should not forget that COVID-19 is real and still out there, we should abide by the laid down protocols to curb the spread of the deadly virus. It is important we use our face masks, wash our hands regularly and maintain social distancing in public places as we rejoice in the celebration of another auspicious season alive. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance.”
