Alex Iwobi has expressed joy over his goal in a premier league encounter against Wolverhampton wanderers at the Molineux on Tuesday evening.

The Nigerian who has last scored a premier league goal in September 2019 at home against the same opponent.

Everton moved back into the top four with that 2-1 victory. Iwobi reacted to the victory in a tweet “That 3 point feeling is so sweet”

Iwobi gave the Merseyside team an early lead when he converted a Lucas Digne’s cross before Ruben Neves came through with an equalizer for the Nuno Espirito Santo side.

Michael Keane sealed the victory for the Toffees with a thumping header 13 minutes from time to aid any hope of European ambition for the Blues.

Carlo Ancelotti described Iwobi’s effort as a “fantastic combination” between him and Digne.

“The players adapted really well. The position of James Rodriguez and Gylfi Sigurdsson created problems for them. We adapted well to the characteristics of our players and at the back, we were focused. All the back four were fantastic.

“We had a different approach without Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin. We played more to attack the flanks with Iwobi and (Lucas) Digne and it worked well because the first goal was a fantastic combination.

“Without Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin it is more difficult to score but I think to be focussed defensively enabled us to have a good game.” The Italian Tactician said.
