There is a slight confusion as the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, KW-IRS, five days ago paid a visit to the ‘Acting Director-General’ of the Bureau of Lands, Alhaji Yusuf Bolakale Abdullahi.
The Service said the visit was a familiarization visit to welcome the new ‘Acting Director-General’ as the team was led by Olanike Wole-Oke, Head, Property Tax, KW-IRS.
Meanwhile, the state government had earlier observed that there was a cessation of the office of the DG, Lands in the state as it will now serve as a department under the recently created Kwara State GIS.
It also dismissed claims that the former DG Bar. Bolaji Edun had been sacked and replaced by Bolakale, noting that he was only being redeployed to a new office which was not immediately mentioned.
With the revelation from KW-IRS, there appear to be some inconsistencies as the ceased office of DG, Lands is still being recognized.
This might also be a confirmation of the news of the sack of Bar. Edun, whose new office has not been disclosed to members of the public.
Several calls put to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye for clarification by our reporter were not answered.
