• You’re an impostor, Minister replies ‘one’ Yekini Nabena

Spokesman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Yakubu Nabena dressed down the Honorable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed over his comment that the ongoing revalidation exercise of the party be cancelled in Kwara State.

The Minister made the comment after successfully revalidating his membership of the APC in his native Oro town over the weekend.

According to him, the whole process was faulty, and people were not allowed to register.

Reacting, Mr Nabena who speaks for the ruling APC told Alhaji Lai that it is not business as usual, advising the Information Minister to submit to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State.

“It is not business as usual. Nobody can monopolise the system. The minister should submit to the governor. He should put himself in the position of the governor too,” Nabena told the Premium Times on Monday.

Responding to Nabena, Mohammed in a statement personally signed by him described the APC spokesperson as an impostor.

He said there is no such office as Deputy National Publicity Secretary in the party, adding that he would not gratify him with any response because he was speaking for himself.

Recall that The Ravens NG reported that there is what many analysts called an ongoing leadership tussle between the Minister and the Governor, even when stalwarts have posited that there is no doubt the Governor is the leader of the party in the state.

The antagonists of the Governor, however, blamed him for not carrying other ‘tendencies’ along which has triggered what appears to be a fight to finish within the ranks of the Kwara State chapter of the APC.
