June 12: Anybody caught inciting violence in Kwara will be dealt with: Police

Kwara State Police Command has vowed to deal with anybody found inciting violence and breaking the law tommorow, June 12.

The Ravens NG reports that there are concerns and apprehension across the country following a planned protest by some persons for June 12.

The Police in Kwara State have however allayed the fears of the citizens, telling them to go about their lawful businesses without nursing any fear.

“The Kwara State Police Command wishes to reassure the good people of Kwara State of her preparedness to ensure that the June 12 holiday is observed in Kwara State without any fear of attack or molestation,” a statement by SP Ajayi Okasanmi, Police Public Relations Officer read.

“This release is also to state emphatically to the people that, the State government did not restrict movement of the citizens, as such, members of the public are advised to go about their lawful endeavors. Adequate security measures have been emplaced across the length and breadth of Kwara State in this regard.

“The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State, CP Mohammed Lawal Bagega psc, enjoined members of the public to report any untoward activities of people around them to the police, while anybody arrested attempting to cause the breakdown of law and order in the State will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
