Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has inaugurated the board members of some subsidiary and associated companies of Harmony Holdings Limited.
The inauguration ceremony took place at Hall B, Kwara Hotels, Ilorin, as the Governor tasked the inducted members to put in their best in turning around the companies they oversee.
Governor AbdulRazaq was represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi who advised the new board members to embrace change and equip themselves with meaningful information so as to live up to the expectations of the highly competitive business environment.
HHL Insurance Brokers Ltd; Kwara Ethnix Designs Ltd; Shonga Farms Holding Ltd; and Kwara Mall Development Company Ltd are the companies that got their boards inaugurated at the event.
Speaking at the event, GMD/CEO of Harmony Holdings Limited, Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for giving the group the required support in the avowed commitment of its management for a turnaround.
He said when he came on board, he inherited a holding company that was not sustainable and had been riddled in various scandals that battered its reputation, adding however that there are fervent efforts ongoing to clean the system which has been challenging.
The Harmony Holdings boss told the newly inaugurated board of directors that it is not going to be a tea party as there are challenging tasks ahead to meet up with the demands of over 3 million Kwarans that lay ownership to the investment portfolios they will serve.
Mallam Nurudeen Jaji, former Chairman, College of Nursing, Oke-Ode and current General Manager, West Africa EPP Books Publishers and Distributors Nigeria Ltd, has been appointed chairman of the board of HHL Insurance Brokers Ltd.
Other members constituting the board are: Mr Aladesanmi Olajide Adesuyi; Hon. Sodiq Ahmed; Mal. Ahmed Saba; and Mr. Adedoyin Abubakar Abiola. Mr Aladesanmi, a chartered insurance broker with over 15 years cognate experience, is also the new substantive MD/CEO of the company.
Also inducted today were Alhaji Sule Adamu as board member, Kwara Mall Development Company Ltd; Mr Adigun Olaiya into the board of Shonga Farms Holding Ltd; and Mrs Banke Buremoh into the board of Kwara Ethnix Designs Ltd.
The induction ceremony was witnessed by Directors of Political Affairs, Economic Affairs in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government; representative of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Enterprise; board of directors, Harmony Securities Ltd; heads of all SBUs and senior managers of Harmony Holdings.
