A socio-political group, Devoted Minds has lauded the appointment of one of their members, Baba Idris into the National Convention Organising Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The group which comprises loyalists of former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki said the appointment of Baba who is a youth advocate did not come as a surprise to them considering his antecedent, experience, loyalty and commitment to the growth of the party, both in Kwara and at the national level.

“Baba was few days ago named among the likes of former Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose, ex-IGP Solomon Arase, Gen. Ishaya Bamiyi, former Abia State Governor, Senator Theodore Orji, and Erelu Olusola Obada as members of the Security Sub-Committee of the Organising Committee of the PDP National elective Convention scheduled to hold in Abuja between October 30 and 31, 2021,” a statement by Yinka Owolabi, Secretary of the group said.

The statement added that Baba’s nomination to serve as a member of the Convention Planning Committee was in recognition of his hardwork, selfless service and dedication to the party’s activities and an attestation to his rising political profile.

“The Devoted Minds quite appreciates the leadership of the PDP particularly Dr Bukola Saraki for the confidence reposed in Baba Idris. Certainly, this is a reflection of his belief in the capacity of the youth. It is our hope that more young persons will be considered for leadership responsibilities.

“We congratulate Baba Idris on his appointment and wish him the best in this new assignment. We have no doubt he will deliver and represent us well.”
