The uniqueness of (SMK) Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu’s candidacy is not just in her intellectual prowess nor her well-mapped vision for the good people of Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency alone, her choice as the most appropriate for the legislative seat of her prized constituency, is also in her dual-citizenship of both local governments that she’s aiming to represent: Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency.
SMK is, in fact, and figure, a perfect fit for the onerous task ahead. She is a citizen of Ilorin South local government by virtue of marriage, as clearly stated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and she’s also from Ilorin East local government by virtue of her birth.
When we talk more about preparedness and inclinations to the people to be served, SMK stands a good chance in all ramifications. She’s on the ground; has been involved in activities and community engagements in both local governments (as she didn’t abandon any); relates well with her people; and also has strong affinities with both local governments she’s aiming to represent.
This is not just evidence of her uniqueness but a statement of fact affirming it. With these, one can conclude that she’s indeed a round peg in a round hole, which Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency cannot afford to lose for any reason, especially at this moment, when the standard of representation is not at the level it ought to be!
Our constituency doesn’t only need a representative in Abuja but also a unifier, a bridge builder of uncommon pedigree, and a representative with familiarity with our immediate needs, problems, and challenges, and who can thus offer the necessary solutions to them. Hajia SMK fits the bill in every standard.
As we journey towards the party primaries, her capacity and competence to deliver optimum deliverables stand her out from the crowd. Let’s, therefore, support a visionary politician, a consummate administrator, and a very proud daughter of our two local governments, Ilorin East/Ilorin South, for the job ahead.
