Hakeem Lawal, son of late former Kwara State Governor, Muhammad Alabi Lawal, has emerged gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), The Ravens NG has learnt.
Lawal, a businessman, scored 33 points to beat his closest challenger, Prof. Oba Abu who garnered 16 points in the delegate election that took place on Wednesday in Ilorin.
Other participants in the primary election of the party include, Kale Belgore, Tajudeen Audu, Engr. Sunday Babalola, Khaleel Bolaji.
Lawal was also a 2019 gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He however lost to AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who is the incumbent governor of the state.
