Raise: Kwara’s former education commissioner, Moddibo-Kawu unveiled Teacher for July Life Class

The immediate past commissioner of education in Kwara State, Hajiah Sa’adatu Moddibo-Kawu has been announced Teacher at the July 2022 edition of Raise Life Class.

The announcement was contained in a statement by the organisers on Wednesday.

According to the statement, this month’s edition will hold on the 31st of July 2022.

Following the announcement, Moddibo-Kawu becomes the second female Teacher for the monthly mentorship programme initiated by the Office of the Representative of Kwara Central at the Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP).

The first lady of Kwara State, Amb. Dr Olufolake AbdulRazaq was the first female guest hosted at the Life Class.

Sa’adatu Moddibo-Kawu is an ex-banker who cut her teeth in the banking industry at the Lagos State branch office of Zenith Bank. She has however worked at other branches of the bank in Kaduna, Maiduguri and Ilorin respectively.

She earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Usmanu Danfodiyo University (UDUS), Sokoto. She also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ilorin and is an alumna of the Metropolitan School of Business and Management in Dubai, UAE, and the Penn Foster Career School Scranton, PA USA.

An educationist, Moddibo-Kawu is a founder of a group of schools and learning centres. She was appointed commissioner of education in Kwara State by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. She previously had a stint at the Ministry of Tertiary Education where she served as commissioner. She however resigned her appointment as commissioner to pursue her political ambition of serving as a member representing Ilorin South and East Federal Constituency at the National Assembly during the primaries on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in June.

She was a member of the think tank team of the late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua’s campaign; headed by former Economic Adviser, Tanimu Yakubu. A distinguished technocrat and professional, she belongs to many professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, and the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI).

Raise Convener who is also Kwara Central Representative in the Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP), Ibraheem Abdullateef noted it was interesting to unveil Hajia Sa’adatu Moddibo-Kawu as Teacher for the July Life Class.

Describing her as a hardworking technocrat and passionate professional, Abdullateef expressed delight at the opportunity availed young people to learn from her life experience and rise through the ladders.

The Raise Life Class is geared towards the development of young people in career, leadership and entrepreneurship. It is an initiative created to deepen social cohesion and build a network of quality new generation leaders in the public and private sectors in Kwara State.
