Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has stated that the conduct of the elections would be with an improvement.

Professor Rhoda Gumus, INEC’s National Commissioner in Charge of Planning, Monitoring and Strategic Planning Committee (PMSC), made this known during a two-day workshop on Election Monitoring and Support Centre (EMSC) for Heads of Department (HODs) in the Commission on Saturday in Gombe State.

Gumus assured that the 2023 polls would be free, credible, and reflect the expectations of Nigerians.

“The 2023 elections will be credible, fair and will be conclusive, that we assure Nigerians,” she said.

She also stated that all measures for free, fair, and credible elections in 2023 were being put in place by the electoral commission, saying that INEC was optimistic that votes would count as witnessed in recent elections in Ekiti and Osun States.
