Kwarapoly: SUG praises Rector’s commitment to students welfare

The Students Union Government Executives, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has lauded the commitment of the Rector, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed for going the extra mile to ensure that students’ welfare is well catered for.

President of the Students body, Ishola Abdulsalam gave this commendation while speaking during a meeting with the Management of the Polytechnic and the representatives of the students.

The meeting which was at the instance of the Management had the presence of Special Adviser to His Excellency, Mr. Sulaiman Abubakar, to address the issue of alleged extortion of students.

He described the Rector as a listening father that is always willing to go the extra mile for the well-being of students even in his discomfort.

The Rector while speaking explained that an increase in some fees such as carry-over fees and loss of receipt is to instil discipline in academic pursuit and a sense of record keeping in students.

He advised them to always be focused on their primary assignment in the institution, and avoid unnecessary protests on issues that can be amicably resolved.

Abdul also appealed to them not to be used as political thugs, and to be good ambassadors of the Polytechnic.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed on a reduction in the following fees, processing of Regularisation Forms, Transcripts, Convocation Brochures, Loss of Receipt, Medical Screening, Log Book and Carry Over.
