Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has declared that many people will be retired after the 2023 elections.

Wike, while speaking at the official commissioning of the Rumikurishi Flyover in Port Harcourt earlier on Thursday, also noted that the elections in 2023 will expose the influence of many politicians in Rivers State.

He also promised that his party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would accept any outcomes from the elections and added that other parties should accept defeat if they are defeated.

” 2023 will confirm to us those that have an influence on voters. Those that their people will listen to and vote for.

“It is not only for you to be in Abuja and tell them whatever you’re telling them, come home because our Polling boots are not going to be in Abuja.

“This election will retire people in 2023. If they win us, we will go; if we win them, they will go. In fact, they have already gone,” he revealed.

Governor Wike also took time to take a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for failing to fulfil the promise to construct a rail line from Maiduguri to Port Harcourt.
