Special Assistant on Digital Communications to President Muhammad Buhari, Bashir Ahmad has blasted former president, Olusegun Obasanjo for endorsing Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 polls.

He mocked that Obasanjo’s influence isn’t even enough to produce a councillor and he is endorsing a presidential candidate. In an Open letter, Obasanjo had enjoined Nigerians to vote for the Labour Party candidate and described him as the most visionary among other candidates. Ahmad further described the ex-president’s endorsement of Peter Obi as hilarious and child’s play.

In a series of tweets via his official Twitter handle, he insisted that Nigerians will vote massively for the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, in 2023.

He Tweeted: “Someone that can’t produce a councillor is busy endorsing a presidential candidate.

“Hilarious! Asiwaju is the candidate Nigerians will be voting for in February.

“Not a long time, for the 2019 election, Chief OBJ endorsed and supported the PDP candidate, and wrote several letters against President Buhari.

“See the result from OBJ’s ward 11, unit 22, Olusomi’s compound of Abeokuta North LG; APC: 87 votes, PDP: 18 votes. We are not bothered.
