As the February 25 presidential election draws nearer, the Directorate of Strategic Communications and Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council is set to unveil a web application that will connect young people with the campaign messages.

The #ThinkingCaps app will be launched on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the Presidential Campaign Council Headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking on the imperative of the app, the deputy director of the directorate, who was former National Publicity Secretary of APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, explained the significance of the app.

Mallam Issa-Onilu noted that many voters who are below 35 years of age do not know the impact and significance of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s leadership as a pro-democracy fighter and Governor of Lagos State and even the progressive good governance his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima enthroned in Borno State.

“This is a strategic tool being deployed to engage voters, especially the millennials and Gen Z.

“This application has a lot of features that are designed to educate and inform while creating fun and offering rewards to users. With this technology, we would creatively pass factual information and bridge knowledge gaps about our candidates, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima, the outstanding achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari, and other associated issues to persuade voters as part of efforts to win the 2023 general elections,” said Mallam Issa-Onilu.

According to the former National Publicity Secretary of APC, the Director-General of the campaign council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Secretary of the campaign council, James Faleke, Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Dele Alake and other leaders of the campaign council will attend the launch.
