Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna state has described the Nigerian judiciary system as pathetic that is always on the side of the crooks than the government or innocents.

Mallam El-Rufai made this known when he appeared on Sunrise Daily on Channels TV on Wednesday.

He revealed that Kaduna State government has not been able to unleash the full wrath of the law on people who stole the state funds because courts are frustrating the State efforts.

“In Kaduna State, the corruption perception is much lower than in other states. We have taken measures. We have made examples of people in public service. We have sacked those that were found to be fiddling with public funds.

We are prosecuting them, we have not convicted anybody because the judicial system is just pathetic—is too slow and in my view often on the side of the crooks rather than on the side of the government or the innocents,” he disclosed.

He further revealed that the the creation of National Industrial Court is one of the biggest mistakes the country has made, citing instances of people accused of corruption getting freed.

“One of the biggest mistakes the government made is creating the NIC, which sees its duty as taking sides of the employees and not the employer. It is not always the employer that is wrong,” he concluded
