In-form Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has matched Gonzalo Higuain record of scoring in six consecutive games in Serie A, a record he matched after his second half goal against Cremonese on Sunday.
The former Argentine striker, Higuain achieved the record in the 2015/16 Serie A season.
Osimhen close range finish saw Napoli trounced Cremonese by 3-0 at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium to further extend the lead at the summit to 16 points ahead of second placed Inter Milan.
Across top five leagues in Europe, no player has scored more goals than Osimhen in 2023.
The red-hot striker has scored eight in his last six Serie A games.
Osimhen is currently the leading scorer in Serie A with 17 goals from 18 appearances this season.
