The robbery attack
on the cashier of the Emir of Minna, Ibrahim Sani has been condemned by Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described the incident as an unfortunate and utter disregard for the traditional institution.
He also charged the security agencies to make the culprits are caught to face the wrath of the law.
The statement read, “this is highly unfortunate to have this kind of situation not just in the state capital but at the Emir’s Palace.
“My administration will not condone this act. I charge the security agencies to investigate and fish out the criminals with a view to prosecuting them”.
It was gathered the incident occurred at about 2:30 pm, today when a gang of about five armed robbers allegedly trailed the Minna palace cashier with a Toyota camry vehicle from a commercial bank where he went to withdraw some amount of money.
The Emir, Alh. Farouk Bahago was said to be in the palace while the armed men shot sporadically into the air to scare people away before they snatched the money and disappeared from the scene.
