Veteran actor, Gbolagade Akinpelu, better known as Ogun Majek, has died yesterday, Thursday, 25th of June, 2020.
The gifted actor, who is said to have been under the weather for some time, was said to have given up the ghost Thursday morning at his residence in Imalenfalafia, Ibadan.
The death of the actor was confirmed in a Facebook post by veteran filmmaker Tunde Ola-Yusuf.
The post reads: “From him we come and onto him we shall return. Alh. Gbolagade Akinpelu Ogunmajek has returned to his creator.
“May God almighty rest his soul among the righteous.”
The President of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, aka Mr. Latin, also confirmed his death.
Ogun Majek had featured in popular movies such as Afonja, Ogbori Elemoso and many others.
The cause of his death is yet to be made public. However, it was gathered that the late actor was battling ill-health before his death.
