The Npower portal has received over 1 million applications from unemployed Nigerians after 48 hours of throwing registration portal open.

The registration process was declared open on Friday, 26th of June, 2020 at exactly 11:59pm.

The Ravens learnt that most applicants faced hitches in making their registration at the early stage, but many have successfully been registering since the eve of Saturday.

The disclosure was made by the official Twitter handle of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, and later confirmed by the official handle of the Npower.

According to the minister, ‘The portal has been registering about 100 applications per second and as at 7:38 pm, we had received 1,001,045 applications.”

Also confirming the claim, Npower tweeted, “The N-Power portal has received over 1 million unique applications since the portal opened almost 48 hours ago.

“The portal is still open and we encourage unemployed young peeps to apply at http://npower.fmhds.gov.ng”, it read.

Npower is a social investment programme under the ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development. It empowers both graduates and non-graduates who are not employed in Nigeria.

The scheme has successfully taken two batches so far (Batch A and B). The ongoing recruitment is for Batch C, and over 500,000 persons across Nigeria are to benefit from it.
