A former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Buruji Kashamu has reportedly bowed out of the world after a protracted battle with the dreaded COVID-19.
The one-time lawmaker lost the battle to the virus today in Lagos as tributes continued to pour in for him.
The late Kashamu was a PDP chieftain who served as legislator representing Ogun East and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government in the 8th National Assembly.
Confirming his death, a former Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce wrote on his verified Twitter page, “I have just lost my good friend of forever to COVID-19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable.
“He died today at First Cardiology Consultant, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray [for] his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy lost.”
