Few weeks to its Fellowship programme, the Hannis Institute for Community Advancement (HICA) has organised an orientation course for local government coordinators on nomination and selection procedure.

The orientation course, held on Thursday, had in attendance local government coordinators and students from Edu, Patigi, and Moro local government areas of Kwara State.

A statement from the media committee of the project made this announcement, noting that, “The programme tagged, ‘Roles and Responsibilities of CELF Coordinators’ was aimed at educating the coordinators and the senior secondary students in the local government areas on CELF.

“Participants were given orientation on the concept of community development, project CELF and duties of the LG coordinators.”

In a related development, the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Kwara State chapter has also declared full support for the project, describing it as exemplary.

ANCOPSS President, Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi, who represented the group, made this declaration in his remarks at the event.

He said: “If programme like CELF had been in existence, the high number of dropouts we have would have reduced.”

Abdullahi expressed satisfaction about the prospects of the project and tasked all the teachers in the state to ensure its success.
