National Assembly extends recess by two weeks

The National Assembly has extended its recess by two weeks, The Ravens can report.

The legislators had gone for their annual recess on July 23 and were earlier scheduled to resume plenary on September 15.

In a new development however, a notice of extension has been placed to the federal lawmakers.

Ojo Olatunde Amos, acting clerk of the National Assembly said in the notice that plenary would now resume on September 29.

No genuine reason was given for the two-week extension.

The notice reads, “This is to inform all distinguished senators and honourable members of the national assembly that the resumption of plenary sessions earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 15th September, 2020, is hereby rescheduled for Tuesday, 29th September, 2020.”

“We regret any inconvenience caused by this change in date,” it added.
