Emir of Ilorin celebrates 25 years on throne

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari will tomorrow, November 11, celebrate in grand style his 25th anniversary on the throne of his ancestors.

The first-class monarch, who is also the Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, was installed as the 11th Emir of Ilorin in 1995 after the demise of former Emir Alhaji Abdulkadir Aliyu BabaAgba.

His father was late Alhaji Zulu-Karnaini Muhammadu Gambari, the 9th Emir of Ilorin who preceded Alhaji BabaAgba.

The present Emir ended a fulfilled legal career as Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division in 1995 when he assumed the traditional office.

The Ravens gathered that the silver jubilee celebrations would commence at exactly 9:00am at the palace, with a line up of events.

Encomiums have continued to pour in for the royal father whom many described as a peace maker, development advocate and lover of his subjects.
