Former guber aspirant, Hakeem Lawal awards scholarship to 125 indigent students

Former Kwara State governorship aspirant and Chairman, Awliya Foundation, Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal has awarded scholarship to 125 indigent students of Ilorin Emirate extraction at Adewale Ibrahim College of Health Science.

The APC chieftain also donated two boreholes at Otte, Asa local government and Ogun-Edun, Moro local government respectively.

These gestures were in commemoration of the 25th coronation anniversary of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.

Lawal was also awarded for his outstanding records of excellence and contributions to the Emirate by the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association.

Today, IEYDA deemed me worthy of an award for my contributions to our community, in celebration of the 25th coronation anniversary of the Mai Martaba and Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari (CFR).

I was well represented by Dr. Afeez Afolabi, Engineer Idris Zubair, Alhaji Sulyman Olowojare, Dr. Ibrahim Afonja, Hadji Femi Yusuf, and a host of others. I donated two (2) boreholes, one at Otte in Asa local government and the other at Ogun-Edun in Moro local government.

I also gave out 125 full scholarships to indigent students of Emirate descent at Adewale Ibrahim College of Health Science, this is in continuation of Awliya foundation’s scholarship scheme at University of Ilorin and the Pan African College of Education where we have over a 100 students on full scholarship.

I commend the organisers of the event, I also appreciate the fatherly support of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari (CFR), more years on the throne Sheu. I also congratulate my fellow award recipients, Sheriff Shagaya and Mallam Saliu Mustapha, more feathers to your cap!
