President Muhammadu Buhari has sought the confirmation of the Senate on the appointment of Mr Abdulrasheed Bawa as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bawa, a 40-year-old indigene of Kebbi State, will now head the anti-graft agency.

Mohammed Umar, a director of the anti-graft agency has been leading the commission in acting capacity since the erstwhile chairman, Ibrahim Magu was relieved of his appointment following allegations of misconducts levelled against him.
