Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been given a charge to engage politicians at the grassroots in order to deepen the inclusion of critical youth stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Some APC youth under the aegis of ‘Fagba Golden Youth’ gave this charge in a meeting where they gave the Kwara State Governor a pass mark in terms of governance, noting however they he has not been getting it right politically.

Speaking, Hon. Jimoh Idris (Blinkers) who is the coordinator of the group said: “The AbdulRazaq-led administration has achieved so many milestones in the area of community development, executing projects across the 193 wards, in health, education, infrastructure and so on. No doubt, the citizens are delighted with your project driven philosophy.

“However, on the political side of things, your engagements so far haven’t trickled down, due to lack of political engagements with the grassroots politicians. The lack of engagement for grassroots politicians has led to a situation, where information and opportunity is not reaching grassroots community that may not have access to the internet,” he said.

The youth group called on the Governor to trickle down his political engagements to the grassroots, saying the politicians at the grassroots may not have access to the internet but are great mobilizers and should not be treated as “political orphans”.

Fagba Golden Youths said they have a strong grip of all the six polling units in their axis which they delivered for Governor AbdulRazaq in the 2019 election, noting they are a force to reckon with politically so as not to lose the units come 2023.

The group meanwhile berated some of the Governor’s appointees for not working enough to preach the works of the present administration, saying they need to up their ante.
