KWAYORG confirms Akogun’s resignation as President

The Kwara South Development Organization (KWAYORG) has confirmed the resignation of Barrister Titilope Akogun as its President.

Akogun who is the pioneer president of the organisation tendered his resignation letter in the early hours of Monday.

The disclosure was made by the Secretary of the Organization, Elemosho Ridwan.

In the letter, Akogun said he felt it is time to say goodbye while availing other agile Kwara South young individuals to contribute their quota meaningfully, to the collective project of rebuilding our dear region for the prosperity of all.

“This is to kindly tender my resignation as the Founding President, Kwara South Youth Development Organization (KWAYORG), an office I have held since 2018,” it read.

“It is my pleasure that I have been able to contribute meaningfully especially on human capital development and advocacy for sustainable development of young people in our dear region amid prevailing and recurring challenges.

“I thank all our fathers, mentors, Board of Trustee members, Central Executive Committee, All Committee members appointed at the 2021 Annual General Meeting, and every young person in our region who had supported us in the quest to rebuild Kwara South.

“I feel it is time to say goodbye while availing other agile Kwara South young individuals to contribute their quota meaningfully, to the collective project of rebuilding our dear region for the prosperity of all. Our best is yet to come. I wish the organization the very best going forward.”

Reacting, KWAYORG through the Secretary, Elemosho said, “While we wish the outgoing president success in his future endeavors, we hope he will continue to lend his voice to matters of KWAYORG and Kwara South in general.

“We also hope he will ensure a smooth transfer of Kwayorg documents and assets to the new transition heads as we continue to build a strong and viable organization.”

Following the constitution of the organization, the Vice President, Ariyo Stephen has since taken over as Acting President to fill the vacuum.
