Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has warned political parties in the state against acts of violence and hate speeches during campaigns for the 2023 general elections.

Buni gave this warning while flagging off the construction of a 54-kilometre Ngalda-Mutai road Phase 1 by the North-East Development Commission at Ngalda town in Fika local government area of the state.

“Let me use this opportunity to call on politicians cutting across all the political parties to avoid all forms of violence, inciting and hate speeches in the course of their campaigns.

“We should concentrate on campaign-based issues that would promote our dear State.”

In the same vein, the governor commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his foresight in establishing the  North-East Development Commission (NEDC) and also appreciated the Commission for the road project and others aimed at giving the state a beautiful face and improving the standard of living of the people in the state.

“The construction of this road would obviously open up the rich agriculturally endowed communities and facilitate easy movement of people, goods and services to stimulate more agricultural, commercial and economic activities in the benefitting communities”, he added.
