Some two months before the 2023 general election, All Progressives Congress National Chairman Abdullahi Adam has revealed that it will amount to shame if President Muhammad Buhari hands over power to any opposition party after the election.
Adamu told BBC Hausa in an interview as he claimed that no politician in Nigeria wants the ruling APC to win more than Buhari.
He further dismissed the insinuation that Buhari is shying away from campaigning for APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and insisted that it’ll not be too good for the President to leave his primary assignment as the Head of State to focus on elections.
“Anyone who tells you that he wants (APC to) win this election more than Buhari is lying. My reason is that it is a shame for the president to hand over power to a political party that is not his,” he revealed.
