As the rift between Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo, and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa stretches on, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up a committee to reconcile the duo and look into the matter.

The relationship between the two became sour when the governor returned to the country after a three-month medical leave in Germany.

On Friday, while inaugurating the committee in Abuja, Abdullahi Ganduje, APC national chairman, said the committee would look into ways to douse the tensions as well as bring solutions to the issues.

Ganduje said, “To interface and engage with all contending partner(s) with a view to gathering facts and circumstances surrounding the lingering impeachment process of the deputy governor.

“To advise the party on the most amicable ways of handling the lingering issues leading to the impeachment process of the deputy governor.

“To make necessary recommendations to the party on resolution of issues and any other matter that may come up in the course of the assignment.”

Members of the committee are; Gboyega Oyetola, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Martins Elechi, Obafemi Hamzat, Tilley Gyado, Ita Giwa, Tokunbo Abiru, and Liman Abbas who will serve as secretary.
