Monarch pours encomiums on CELF, as team lands in Kaiama

Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Sheu Umar has poured encomiums on the Haashim Initiative for Community Advancement (HICA), organisers of the Countryside Emerging Leaders’ Fellowship (CELF) for selecting Kaiama indigenes for the project.

Kaiama Emirate is located at Kaiama local government area of Kwara North.

The monarch gave this applause Thursday, when he received a delegation of the CELF who paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.

He described the project as timely and purposeful, noting: “We thank you for remembering Kaiama Emirate for this initiative against all odds, notably the condition of the road which you plied to this place. If you had stayed back in Ilorin, we wouldnt have known about CELF.

“I was informed about the issue you encountered on your way coming and I thank you for the good gesture you extend to us. We also thank all your promoters and sponsors for their kind-heartedness.”

Alhaji Umar pledged the support of the Emirate for the success of the project as he called on stakeholders to partner with the CELF.

Also speaking, the CELF Coordinator, Kaiama Local Government, Mr Usman Bio Yaqub described the project as “a welcome idea”, soliciting more slots for Kaiama indigenes.

In the same vein, the CELF Coordinator, Baruten Local Government, Mr Ibrahim Semo Musa observed that the orientation programme has made them appreciate the project and assured that parents of the shortlisted candidates would be contacted and sensitised on the project.

Meanwhile, the CELF team also held an orientation session, where participants were trained on community development, CELF and roles of the project coordinators.
