Kwara Govt to distribute insecticidal nets across the state, Commissioner reveals

The Kwara State government has concluded arrangements to distribute long-lasting insecticidal nets to people across the state, The Ravens can confirm.

This much was disclosed by the Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Razaq today, 16, June 2020 in a meeting with some team members of the Society for Family Health and the National Malaria Eradication Program.

The groups have come to inform the state government of their project of distributing insecticidal nets and sensitizing the people about the deadly malaria disease.

Speaking at the meeting, Raji stated that the government has disbursed a total amount of 82 million naira to facilitate the distribution of long-lasting insecticide net in its avowed determination to reduce malaria to the barest minimum.

The Health Commissioner disclosed that his principal, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has put a lot of commitment in place to eradicate malaria in the state, adding that his strides in overhauling the health sector are unprecedented.

On their part, the delegation appreciated the government for providing the platform, disclosing that about 2.3 million nets are up for distribution to Kwarans across the state. They also revealed that training will start tomorrow, 17th June 2020, and is expected to last for four days.

Raji appreciated the delegation from both organizations for paying the state a visit, noting that the government is ready to partner with them at all time.
