One of the discussions of Manchester United’s Thursday morning conference ahead of United’s trip to Tottenham was on the extension of the Nigerian striker with the club till January 31, 2021.

The Norwegian gaffer hailed the goalscoring ability, and the influence striker have had on the team’s performance.

Ighalo scored four goals in three starts before the suspension of football due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, and Ole has encouraged the talisman to continue his fine form when the league resumes.

Speaking to reporters via video conference from the Aon Training Complex, Solksjaer said: “We’re delighted Odion is staying with us.

“We had a good conversation with his club and Odion’s made a great impact when he came, so that’s very pleasing.

“He gives us another option up front, he is a goalscorer and what he does in and around the dressing room as well is great.

“I hope he’s going to continue and finish off what he has started.
The 31-year-old striker faces stiff competition from Marcus Rashford, Daniel James, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood for a position in the starting xi when they make the trip to the north London to play Tottenham Hotspur.
