President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari has declared to service chiefs that their best was not good enough, emphasising that excuses would no longer be tolerated in the fight against insecurity bedevilling the nation.

The President made this statement in a meeting with security chiefs at the Villa, Abuja, today against the backdrop of protests and complaints against the rising trend of killings, banditry and terrorism in the Northern part of the country.

Speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.), quoted Buhari as telling the service chiefs he appointed since 2015 that he expected them to henceforth live up to expectations.

There has been a rash of uproars from different quarters concerning the rising cases of insecurity in the country, with some people calling for the sack of the service chiefs.
