First batch resumes Dec 1

The first batch of Fellows of the Countryside Emerging Leadership Fellowship (CELF) will be admitted into camp between December 1 and 14, 2020, the Haashim Initiative for Community Advancement (HICA) has announced.

This announcement was made in a statement by Saadudeen Abdulrasheed, CELF Secretary today.

According to the statement, the camp, hitherto scheduled for October 28 to November 11, was postponed due to the ongoing National Examination Council (NECO) examination.

It added: “CELF is an equal opportunity leadership training platform for young secondary school leavers, especially those from the rural areas. The objective is to groom informed youths who are non-urban settlers to have sufficient exposure and training which would afford them the opportunity to contribute to the development of rural communities.

“While on camp, Fellows will have the opportunity to hone their team building skills as they will be made to cooperate to deliver on assigned tasks. They will also receive mentoring from inspiring individuals, learn the rudiments of community development, social habits, among others.”

The Ravens gathered that other arrangements for the camping exercise, including medicals, facilitators and resource persons would be communicated in due course.

HICA, meanwhile, thanked her many donors and sponsors who supported the vision of the CELF, pleading for more support from individuals and corporate organisations.
