Harmony Holdings Limited, the mother organisation of the Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Center has described as unfounded and malicious a social media post claiming that there is a plan to siphon savings set aside by the health facility.

HHL said the medical facility did not save a kobo under the previous administration, noting that the ingenious step debuted under the present administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

It further added that the Diagnostic Center has received maximum support from the present administration, while emphasising that it is indeed in safe hands.

These statements were made in a release issued by the Corporate Affairs Unit of the Harmony Holdings Limited yesterday.

Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Centre is in safe hands

Our attention has been drawn to a malicious and spurious content making the rounds on social media to the effect that the Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Centre, a subsidiary company of the Harmony Holdings Limited is crumbling under the present government.

We wish to inform the public that this claim is not only misleading but also baseless and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

The misleading post suggests that equipment and machines in the health facility are not adequately maintained and there is a plan to siphon savings set aside by the Center.

It is interesting that the mischievous elements who concocted this untruth acknowledged that savings are being made. To be sure, no such practice existed in the previous administration typified by profligacy and reckless spending. This is therefore a plause for the current administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. It also defeats the claim that the Center is not given freedom to run.

To put the records straight however, there is no intent whatsoever to siphon these savings. It is only a figment of the imagination of those peddling it. For the current administration, this is a way of saving for the rainy days as things may not always go rosy. Again, from these savings, a new machine, Genrui Chemistry Analyzer was recently procured. Does it not defy logic that funds supposedly meant to be siphoned are being channelled to such a laudable enterprise?

It is important to place on record that the current administration, as a matter of fact, inherited a number of machines that have broken down. Nevertheless, efforts are being made to repair them, and even replace some despite the huge cost required.

The present administration also recently bought a brand new PKL Hematology Analyzer (Lab) to assist the Center in discharging its duties effectively. Approval has also been given for the repair of faulty UPS by the government, all in a bid to reposition the Diagnostic Center and make it a go-to health facility in the country.

Part of the rots left by the previous government was also an unpaid debt amounting to 10 million naira owed to GE, an equipment manufacturing company. This unpaid debt severed the relationship between the company and Center, and made the former boycott the latter. It was the present administration that offset this huge debt, heralding the renewal of the relationship which has paved way for fresh partnerships.

An administration that is making strident efforts to revamp this medical facility and reverse the ugly trends should not be subjected to blackmail and unfounded allegations. We advise members of the public to be wary of posts they read on the pages of social media and take time to know the fact of the matter.

We equally declare without mincing words that the Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Centre is in safe hands as Harmony Holdings Limited, under the watch of its Group Managing Director/CEO, Mal. Abdullahi Abdulmajeed, is alive to its responsibility of ensuring that this subsidiary company like others works for Kwara and Kwarans.

Corporate Affairs Unit,
Harmony Holdings Limited.
