Jawondo reappointed Kwara’s Commissioner for Justice

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reappointed Barrister Salman Jawondo as the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, a statement by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye has established.

Jawondo had previously served in the same capacity in the dissolved cabinet of the state.

Confirmed by the Assembly Thursday, he was inaugurated by the Governor on Friday.

Governor AbdulRazaq charged Jawondo to keep to the oaths of his office, saying his reappointment is a further call to duty in serving the people of the state.

“Your re-appointment is a further call to duty in serving the people of the state. You should continue to keep to the oath of office. I congratulate you and wish you all the best.

The inauguration and brief swearing-in ceremony of the Asa-born legal luminary held at the presidential lodge in Ilorin.

It was attended by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Suleiman Durosinlohun; the Grand Kadi, Mohammed AbdulKadir; Secretary to the State Government, Prof Mamman Saba Jubril; Head of Service, Mrs Modupe Susan Oluwole; Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Barrister Idris Musa; and Permanent Secretary (Cabinet, Political), Mrs Kikelomo Grillo.

Jawondo, for his part, applauded the governor for the reappointment and his giant strides across sectors, and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

“On behalf of myself and the larger Jawondo clan, I express my profound appreciation to His Excellency for the honour done to me once again,” he said.

“This opportunity is a challenge for me to assist His Excellency by redoubling my efforts in his drive to change the narrative of the state and ensure development. By the grace of God, Your Excellency will succeed.”
