Kwara govt delivers newly constructed Eye Care Centre to hospital management

The Kwara State Government has on Thursday handed over the newly constructed Eye Care Centre at the General Hospital, Ilorin to the Chief Medical Doctor, Dr Bola Ahmed.

This, according to a release from the government, is to ensure the immediate commencement of eye care services to the people of the state.

The delivery followed the completion of construction work and installation of medical and eye care specific instruments at the multi-millionaira facility aimed at providing qualitative eye care services in a serene environment.

The centre is said to be equipped with modern eye care diagnostic and therapeutic devices.

Director, Planning Research and Statistics at the State Ministry of Health, Mrs. Iyabo Fabiyi represented the Commissioner for Health. She handed over relevant keys and documents to the hospital management, charging the health workers present to ensure that the centre is put to optimal use.

She also urged that necessary strategies be deployed to make the centre first choice for eye care services in the North Central geo-political zone of the country.

CMD Bola Ahmed who later introduced the Consultant Ophthalmologist in charge of the facility, Dr. Mrs. Khadijat Olanipekun-Lawal to the visiting team from the State Ministry of Health, applauded the government for fulfilling her pledge of making the General Hospital a pride of place in the country.
