The Representative of Kwara Central at the 5th Assembly of the Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP), Hon. Ibraheem Abdullateef has on Friday paid a visit to the First Lady of Kwara State, Amb. Dr. Olufolake AbdulRazaq.

According to Abdullateef, the visit provided a platform for him to discuss policies and programmes relating to gender-based violence, youths engagement and development in Kwara State and Nigeria.

“I sought the support of foreign relations and international diplomacy top brass in engaging the First Ladies and Governments of the States, as we embark on advocacy, where the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act has not been domesticated to speed up actions. This is part of our resolve at the 5th Assembly to make the world freer and safer for the girl child,” the young parliamentarian told newsmen.

“It is our good luck in Kwara to have a governor and first lady focusing on deepening the inclusion and empowerment of youths and women in the state,” he added.

Amb. AbdulRazaq meanwhile commended the NYP representative for his Raise Life Class initiative, for which she had also served as a teacher.

Raise Life Class is a monthly mentorship session where young people have an interface with accomplished personalities.
