There is a need to create consciousness among the residents of the Ilorin metropolis on the need to ensure complete adherence to proper drainage system management. It is important to note that maintaining a good drainage system is an antidote to flooding. Poor maintenance of drainage systems is detrimental to road infrastructure and other public amenities as well as individual properties and lives. Hence, maintaining a good drainage system should be seen as a way of life.
While I appreciate the efforts of the Supervisory Commissioner for Works, I would like to encourage the residents of the Ilorin metropolis to stop dumping refuses in the drainage system, burning dirts inside drainage systems, burning tyres or dirts on Asphalts and joining hands in complementing the efforts of the Supervisory Commissioner for Works in ensuring that debris is taken from our drainage system and we have an effective drainage system in the state capital.
The Proactiveness of the new supervising Commissioner of works is highly appreciated and commended. I pray this pace of quality jobs is maintained now and forever. Let’s keep up the good work.
